Hebraic Roots Books & Bible Study Resources

“How many a man has dated a new era in his life from the reading of a book! The book exists for us, perchance, that will explain our miracles and reveal new ones. The at present unutterable things we may find somewhere uttered. These same questions that disturb and puzzle and confound us have in their turn occurred to all the wise men; not one has been omitted; and each has answered them according to his ability, by his word, and his life.

Hebraic Roots Books

Here I’ve compiled a list of books I’ve read on my favorite subject; studying the Word of God within the context of its Hebraic culture and history. I’ve only begun this journey of learning more about Christianity’s Hebraic heritage about ten years ago. I’d like to recommend the following books to you, many of which I need to re-read myself- this time with my kids!

Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.
~ Jesus, Matthew 5.17-20

Therefore every scribe instructed concerning the kingdom of heaven is like a householder who brings out of his treasure things new and old.
~ Matthew 13.52

Pore over it again and again, for everything is contained in it; look into it, grow old and gray over it, and do not depart from it, for there is no better pursuit for you than this.
